I have a very severe high frequency loss and have been wearing hearing aids for many years. I would be lost without them. I have to buy top of the range aids but always get in-the-ear aids as I spend most of my leisure time outdoors. Wind will always be a problem but changing the angle of my head usually helps. I purchased mine through The Villages Health audiologist and have a lifetime of adjustments. My advice is, if they improve your lifestyle, stick with them. It takes time for your brain to adjust but the noises you hear will eventually become normal as they were when your hearing was good.
