Tastes and times change. But I do think it weird that a radio station dedicated to seniors would not do market research and tailor their playlist to be acceptable to the majority of their market. Maybe they did - I don't know.
I understood the point the author was making, I didn't understand the reason for the post. I don't mind it. I don't object to it. Just curious if they are just venting or want to get the station to change - I just don't know.

Well, I retired 3 years ago at age 50, and many many more are retiring at younger ages. The current generation prefers life experiences to finding fulfillment through work. They will also opt to retire younger. Since I am seeing more and more my age retiring, its safe to assume we came of age in the 1980's. '80's music had some rap (Beastie Boys, Blondie, SugarHill Gang, and even into our 30's we were listening to Snoop and Dre.
I'm not a big rap fan, but I do like the "nostalgic" ones as mentioned above.
You are absolutely right, the Villages radio station is making adjustments based on the newly retiring demographic. You will hear less and less classic '60's rock, even though I love that very much. In another decade, expect to start hearing N'Sync and Brittney also.
It is what it is. The world, and time, march on.
