Sorry to disagree but all through the pandemic, other than about three months in mid-2020 when the AMC in Leesburg was closed, there were new movie releases every week. The idea that movies were not being released as a reason to explain theaters in TV staying closed is inaccurate. I wonder if at least one reason that the theaters here are not all being reopened is that the developer realizes that the cost of ongoing upgrades etc to keep up with the cutting edge technology in the industry, in order to compete with the customer experience at the large theater chains, is not cost effective. Of course people's streaming movies at home (which we do, also) is another consideration that The Villages may be considering, but for many of us the large screen experience cannot be matched even on our big screen home tv's.
Also, the AMC has some showings that have open captioning (subtitles) for the hearing impaired; their website shows which showtimes offer this.
Plus, for those interested, there is a bar so you can take a cocktail, wine, or beer into the theater. Plus a full concession area. And you can reserve your exact seat online days in advance.
I think we are lucky to have this; lots of areas in FL don't have an AMC nearby; especially since with A-List the movies can each cost as little as $2.
Plus the mall has a huge entertainment complex just down the hall from the movie theater; it looks like a mini Las Vegas - neon lights, bowling, indoor go carts, sports bar/cafe, huge arcade, billiards etc.

Measure your wealth not by the things that you have, but by the things you have for which you wouldn't take money.
The world needs dreamers; the world needs 'do'-ers. But most of all, the world needs dreamers who are do-ers.
