Wde have crown molding mounted 6 inches away from thje cielng, with multicolor led strips pointing up, this give indicate colored lighting under remote control. LEDs have been in place for several years, i have gone thru several controllers and 2 or 3 power supplies. For our lanai, there are 6 controllers and 6 power supplies, and NO wires to be seen.
