Nobody ripped it apart this time.. I think it wore out from to much use. It’s going to be a parade once BJ’s opens. Have patience while waiting in line at the gate and don’t forget your gate card because there is no Red Button to push.

I was there 2 days ago and it was working fine. In fact, I saw a guy stopped on "our" side of the gate, stopping golf cart drivers to ask them about this very same thing, and he said he read about it on Nextdoor. If that was you in the Boston baseball cap, OP, then I told you then, that the State has no say-so in what does or does not happen to our gate. The road it leads to isn't a state road, the gate isn't a state-regulated gate. It leads to the back-road that starts at the alternative-medicine building at the gate, to the Stonecrest Gate past Walmart and the Dollar Store and all that.
Part of it is only accessible via golf cart - including the gate itself, and the path from Aldi's to Walmart (which has a side-path to a Stonecrest golf-cart gate).
I don't know why anyone would actually stand there beside his golf cart asking everyone if they'd heard about this and if it was true, when a simple phone call to the Villages Community Watch (which oversees the gate) would have given them the answer.
