A $1000. bribe buys a lot. I got a couple of estimates on my roof—12,400 to 15,600. Told the roofing company I’ll pay $8500. They said no way. Told them I’d bring my roofer from Atlanta where I used roofers in my business and that I’d get it done for $6500 which included travel and disposal as well as the permit being pulled. Twenty minutes later I got a call saying they would do it for the $8500 as long as I paid for any extras such as new plywood. That ended up being $500. There is soooo much profit in roofing. Of course the worker comp insurance for roofing is high, but they still made a profit at 9k on a 1527 sf house. If you do not ask, you will not receive.
