Pad in pocket
My brother’s class went on a field trip in the early 60’s. He was 10 years old. The group ate lunch at a place that had a single use bathroom. There was a metal Box that said “napkins” on the wall in the bathroom. He needed to wipe his hands so he put a nickel in and got his napkin. He used it and folded it and put it in his shirt pocket. That night at dinner (there were 5 of us, 3 were girls) my mom pulled the napkin out of his pocket and asked him where he got it. He told her the story and said he couldn’t understand what the safety pins were for. We were hysterical laughing. Gone are the wonderful days of naivety.
