Both DeLuna and St. John's are pretty close to the turnpike, and when conditions are right (wrong) you are going to hear traffic noise...no way around it. Often, sales people try to play this down when showing prospective buyers homes during daylight hours. We had initially looked at some homes closer to the turnpike, and I agree that the noise levels during the day were much lower. But, that likely has a lot to do with other competing noises such as air nailers, saws, compressors, etc. We got a really good piece of advice during our search process: Go visit a prospective property at night when there are no competing sounds. What a difference. At one home in Monarch Grove, the heavy truck traffic from the turnpike sounded like it was coming out of the back yard! Do your due diligence, and take a listen in various areas at different times of the day/night. You may be surprised. Also remember, at some point in the not too distant future, Meggison is going to be a fairly major thoroughfare.
