Default Why are generators being used for home construction?

Anybody that has walked around a village under construction will hear the constant buzz of generators, as each work crew seems to be responsible for providing their own electricity.

This seems to be a very inefficient way to build homes, especially when you consider the negative effect of noise and smog on those residents who have already moved in. Not to mention the additional cost to subcontractors to purchase, maintain and fuel generators.

I contacted SECO to ask them why they don't provide electric service during construction. It turns out that they do provide such a service, but it is up to the developer to request it (and presumably pay for it).

Having SECO provide construction electric service seems like a good idea that would improve the quality of life here in The Villages, and simplify the work of builders. Could also 'green up' the developers image.
