Is this a Florida thing or a Villages thing? IN the northeast we have a constant battle with directing water away from the house. Rain will destroy a house built on a slab if not kept in check. whats the deal?

Building code in most states (MN where we come for sure) requires gutters by the front entryway. Most home loans require them. The rest of the house is a decision the homeowner can choose or not choose to do. We chose to put them on after we watched torrential storms dropping sheets of water directly to our foundation.
