Here's one place from goggle not to use Vaseline:
Do not use petroleum jelly with condoms—it can break down the condom so it gets holes in it.

I remember good use for Vaseline when I used it to hold needle bearings in when assembling my 4 speed top loader on my 66 ford Fairlane GT when it was up on blocks in my front yard…..
