Purchasing tickets was a long process as well due to the crowds. Only one person was working the concession stand and that was also swamped. With so many other screens sitting idle in the other two movie houses it would seem like one of them could be utilized to handle this onslaught of interest.
I know help is hard to find but The Villages seems to find the people when they need them. It was just poor use of the facilities we have in this community in my opinion.
The management at Old Mill Playhouse did their best to keep things organized so I compliment them on their handling of a stressful situation, but the developer can do better than this.

I think there were two things at work here. The pandemic certainly resulted in people not going to the movies and secondly, Hollywood for some time was making movies no one wanted to see. Now that the pandemic is winding down and I have heard that Hollywood has started to get the message that people are not interested in their woke messaging as it has certainly hurt their bottom line, they are beginning to go back to making movies such as Top Gun that has really no political message. It’s just a good old fashion movie. If these two things are true people will go back to the theaters and they will make money. I hope the developer will reopen these theaters as it was a wonderful perk in The Villages.
