Widespread socialism doesn't really even exist in Europe, it's just more socialist than here. No one here seems to freak out that the government runs the postal service or the DMV. Both of which are privatized in some European countries.

This is true, that $7/hr (35% tax = about $1100/mth) includes all your taxes plus it is also paying for your health insurance that covers everything, and 6 weeks of vacation. The insurance is actually Universal and covers everything.
