LIV paid $200,000,000 to a washed up 51 year old player. It's just about getting a big name for people to come and see. I can't blame him for taking it, but I don't think that LIV is going to get their money's worth.
They offered Tiger "high nine figures" and he refused it.
The one that I'm surprised about is Dustin Johnson who, at #15, has the highest OWGR of anyone on that tour.
The rest of the tour is players who were great at one time but are on the final leg of their careers, Korn Ferry Tour players and players that haven't been able to get onto any other tour.
One player is ranked at 600 in the OWGR and there are several that are not ranked because the rankings don't go that high. It's basically like Triple A Baseball. Another minor league tour. I don't see them getting the interest that they think they'll get. The European Tour has better quality players.
I will be interested in watching the Boston event because I've played that course several times and won an event there. I always thought it would be a great test for tour players at 8,400 yards from the tips. It's about what they should be playing these days.
As far as the other seven events, I'd much rather watch the best in the world.
Do they have any kind of television contract?
