Default Fly Girl: A Memoir by Ann Hood

Fly Girl: A Memoir by Ann Hood is the story of her career as a flight attendant -- when she got in on the last of the glamorous days of flying -- just as deregulation was setting in.

This book is not a Coffee, Tea, or Me -- which was actually fiction, written by a man in the PR department of one of the major airlines of the time and published in 1967.

Fly Girl was published last month. The author gives us the details of the many things flight attendants must know. There is a lot more to the career than just looking good while providing food and bar service.

The video I am attaching here is about the glory days of Pan Am. Ann Hood, the author, worked for TWA, also quite a glamorous airline -- once upon a time.

(I think there is at least one club for retired flight attendants in TV.)

The video will be nostalgic for those of us who remember (sigh).......
