Some people call it a bubble because they have a very high regard for where they live and I find it quite rude and condecending . You are quite right to say that Leesburg is extremely important to the villages and most people don't realize they were 10,000 more homes going up in the north Leesburg area near Coleman prison so that's all going to be what I call now the huge donut where there's a center part that is not the villages. Personally I'm really happy if villages don't come out to Leesburg as the problem is apparent when a restaurant becomes popular and then it doesn't. We have a movie theater that has been around for 30 plus years and is great as well as wonderful restaurants in Leesburg fruitland Park and Lady Lake they're not in the villages. I'm happy when you don't come here so I can get a table and great service. I am also happy that there are several squares with restaurants for variety but then again I'm also not happy when I get ripped off by contractors that think I live in The villages that charge 50% more or by people that are trying to scam us because we're just all old seniors. So yes Leesburg is extremely important as it has two major thoroughfares running through it 27/441 and 44 . As well as connecting to the turnpike and a major hospital and some great businesses that are not restaurants. Plus don't forget we are part of Lake county and supported with taxes.
