Back in the 60's there was a scientist who developed something called The Bliss Point which was the optimal level of Sugar in soft drinks. A level that was not too much and not too little. The perfect amount to get you to come back for more.
That concept has moved on to all kinds of processed foods with added sugars in them as well as things like Fat and Salt.
Even items like Yogurt with fruit in it have added sugar.
