Is it poor etiquette, uncomfortable or obnoxious?

I keep running into people standing in place texting and taking selfies.
All for it ! And, add to that golf courses, NO sitting at the T's and talking on your phone while others wait on you to just GET UP AND GO TO THE Tee. Let's face it, our convenient cell phones, that enable us to keep in touch with a seriously ill family member, or know when to leave for the airport to pick up a friend, however..... we pay a high price for that ! You can't go to a "nice" restaurant for pleasant meal without listening to people SHOUT into their phones all their private thoughts and opinions; some very embarrassing. People walking the isles of grocery stores, again, shouting into phones and ear pieces shoved into their ears so it appears they are shouting at themselves. I don't know the answer. I do remember the days when cell phones were not allowed ON golf courses, IN school classrooms, on IN religious services. I would not be depressed if those days of some kinds of "rules" would return. Fat chance !
