At least here something was done about it once discovered. 50% of overseas made cloths are done by children. Mining it's 60%. Batteries it's 60%. Pharmaceuticals it was above 60% and the list goes on. And most places the work day is 12 hours. It changes daily as corporations find cheaper places to move work and buy cheaper materials and the % of children working continues to go up.
Child labor is used most places we offshore work to because it's cheap and nobody seems to care. We are horrified to find it in Alabama but turn a blind eye to what is happening around the world. Somehow we need to hold accountable those companies that move work offshore to inspect and not allow anyone under a certain age to work. Globalization does work but we need to have better oversight with the implementation.
