I have a friend that owned a car dealership and his opinion was that there is not a warranty out there that is worth the money. Retailers make a ton of money from warranties. I worked in various retail outlets over the years and one thing that they had in common was that they wanted everyone to push warranties. They boosted profits like nothing else that they sold.

It does yes. I have a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was purchased April 2013. At that time, Chrysler offered an extended warranty that had no mileage, no age limit. Essentially a bumper to bumper lifetime factory warranty on the car with a $100 deductible per incident. The car is still with me and the warranty has paid for itself. Two years ago Chrysler offered to buy out the warranty for 50% of the purchase cost.
