.... because you can only put in one advanced request for a person for a given day.

In Muncle's scenario, this fella is in two groups that play the same day (obviously at non overlapping times). He can only be in an advanced request for one of the groups.

In the 3-day out reservation (i.e. open tee times) part of the system, you could book yourself all day long into open spots, as long as times don't overlap.
