Is anybody worried about the economy? Are we so wrapped up in our daily routines that we don't see the big picture. Meanwhile we raise the budget for the EPA 34% during the worst recession since the 40's. People are losing their jobs and homes and all they can talk about is health care? And I don't want to hear about Obama inheriting this. He now owns this economy. Just like President Bush took responsibility for Clinton's recession. Remember how the USA felt after we were attacked in 2001?
Are we going to pull ourselves out of this?
Are the right decisions being implemented?
Are our priorities in order????

I visit several political discussion sites, and engage in a lot of discussion of "current affairs" with real live people, and ....

In my opinion, on this particular message board there are a lot of folks who are retired.obviously, and are set with their income and their health insurance (PLEASE I know it does not apply to ALL..speaking of a lof of folks here in The Villages), thus the emotional responses will not be forthcoming as they would be, AND ARE, with a different age group.

Someone once said that here in The Villages we are "domed" and protected to a degree....yes, many saw their portfolios take a dive, but for so many it affected their net worth only (not to minimize that) and NOT their income and expenses.

Now, if you get outside of The Villagees were people are struggling to find jobs..relocating in some cases to do that, or are worried about the job they have now you will find a lot more emotion about these issues. Struggling with rising costs in some areas..facing cutbacks from local government, etc.

Most are WORRIED about the economy and mucho more than just that..they just do not belong to this message board FOR THE MOST PART.

PS: OF course on the other hand, last Thursday the President was on network TV with talk of health care and that event came in 3RD in viewers behind specials on Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett
