A good dog trainer actually trains you to train your dog.
Many years ago we had a wirehair fox terrier. A great dog, difficult to train. We were kicked out of dog training class. The, "teacher," asked us to leave with the line, you will never be able to train this dog. He was right. The dog was a great pet. Sit heel, roll over only if you caught him doing it.
