I'd bet a free luch at McDonalds
that she didn't use an APP on the phone (or the phone by iteself) to open the gate. The 25+ year old technology the gates use have no way of accepting a signal sent by a phone or phone app. Something ATTACHED to (like an attached wallet) the phone is another story but the phone itself, didn't happen. Also, it's possible the gate attendant (
if it was an attended gate) opened it for her. I have had that happen as well.
