I think it is great that some folks believe that the vaccinations for Covid work for them. Keep getting them if they make you feel more secure. I will never attempt to discourage them from getting their shots. In my case, I am in my 70's and every year I get blood work done prior to my annual checkup. My blood work is always fine; no cholesterol problems, A1C level is fine, and all my other blood related tests come out fine. I have never had the flu and never get the flu shot. But, I never tell folks they shouldn't get the flu shot. My children have had covid prior to the vaccinations, and now refuse to get the shots. That's their choice. I got the shots because I was told at the beginning that if I had the shots I wouldn't be able to give the virus to my wife. I believe I was misinformed. My wife caught covid (mild case) and gave it to me (a mild case). Neither of us have had the booster shots and have decided not to get the shots for now. On the other hand, we have relatives that get EVERY booster shot as soon as they become available and they have also had the Covid. I am sure that they will rush to get the MonkeyPox vaccination as soon as they are available. I won't try to dissuade them from getting vaccinated.
I am happy for those that get Covid and are overjoyed that they are going to get better because they have their vaccinations. Maybe they are correct; who knows? I am not a medical professional so I certainly do not know the answer to the question as to the idea of whether or not the vaccination is a placebo to some folks.
By the way, when we got the Covid, we only took over the counter cold meds and we did fine. Because we had the covid vaccination? Because we are healthy? I am, but she isn't.
I have found that if I stock my medicine cabinet up with cold medicine, I do not catch a cold. Haven't had a cold in about 10 years.
