The Trane XV model is a high end, multi-speed compressor unit. He also said that the unit needs a computer board, which sounds like a proprietary part that cannot be purchased from anyone except the manufacturer. I doubt that any HVAC company would have one of these top-of-the-line models sitting around and available to swap out a computer board, because most people do not buy these expensive units. It is probably a special order. Hence, he needs to wait for the part.
