We're from the upper midwest and it was perhaps 6 yrs ago we opted to fly up and rent a vehicle as friends and family live in 2 states that we'd criss-cross to visit. Then came c-19 and all the "rules" in varying places. Add to that the prices they've implemented. Rental cars are extreme. So a visit for a week would entail the cost of flight, car-rental, motels and eating out. We're older now (some would say elderly but that's perspective) with some health and mobility issues. Oh and not to add to all of the above, but I will, the stress of flights being cancelled or delayed. NO thank you! We'll stay home and let those folks up north come here if they so desire.
