No need to be suspicious. Xfinity doesn't sell a real analog landline service. They sell a digital service that connects a phone line to a phone jack on the back of the Xfinity modem. If you want a real old fashioned analog phone service, you need to buy it from a telephone company that will deliver the service to your house using a separate, low voltage wire that will not depend on your house power or the Xfinity COAX cable. And, it will not go down when your house power is out. But, you may still need to dial 352 to make a local call because even the analog phone systems have gone to the 10 digit dialing system.
