Growing up in Minnesota my team was the Twins and one of my favorite ballplayers was Harmon Killebrew, who at the time (mid-1960's) was hitting homers very close to Ruth's AL record of 1 every 11.76 at-bats, and finished his career with the fifth most total homeruns in the AL. His high salary for any one year was I believe $100,000.00 which is about $915,000.00 today. Shows just how out-of-proportion major league salaries are today compared to times past.
