No, not really. Changes to operational Numerical Weather Prediction models is done on a planned schedule. Usually a package of changes that have been tested in parallel against operations and selected retrospective cases will be implemented. You might see upgrades every year or so. I was a developer at NCEP and put many model improvements into operations.

Some of nature’s actions are not controllable - ie volcanoes, fires, burping cows. There are many things we can control and that is what many countries focus on. Control and take charge or be a victim.
