Double-crested cormorants (the smaller, dark birds) love to hang around with White Pelicans (the larger, white bird) while the pelicans hunt. It seems to scare fish up into the beaks of the hungry cormorants (which are pretty good fishers in their own rights). If you get a bunch of both kinds of birds in a small retention pond, the pond will be emptied of fish in no time.
