Just wondering if any others here have received such a strange request from the "U.S. Census Bureau". I am tempted to shred it and forget it in this era of SCAMS. Would appreciate your comments, please. --Thank you.
I got one of these in Georgia a few years back that was a bunch of pages. I ignored the first one and then got a second notice with a new survey. I answered some of the basic questions of publicly found information such as age(not date of birth), race, gender, years of employment, marital status, residency questions such as how long in one place, etc. I would not answer anything about income, personal finances, or identifying data such as date of birth, etc. After returning it, I got phone calls, then a visit from a census employee to try and get me to answer the rest of the questions in person that I was uncomfortable sending in the mail. I still refused the additional information and they had the same person come back two or three times, then a supervisor. On the supervisor visit, I got much more direct and told them to stop visiting me. They stopped after that visit. I would answer what you feel is comfortable to you and send it back once you verify that it is truly the census bureau.
