"Humanists reject the claim that the Bible is the word of God. They are convinced the book was written solely by humans in an ignorant, superstitious, and cruel age. They believe that because the writers of the Bible lived in an unenlightened era, the book contains many errors and harmful teachings.'

I think that it is how people interpret in the holy books. First, it is written by people, who are guided by the divine but the people themselves are not perfect. Second, we are reading the original scripts in translation. Meanings are in different contexts, meanings can change. People wrote in terms of the culture in those days. And somethings were relevant only to those days (notice there are no mention of car etiquette, space exploration etc.) Somethings were allegories, parables and some, history. Then somethings were written for all times. Again interpretation. And then there is revelation. Only those see whom the Lord chooses can see. This must be very difficult for those who are not chosen. Since they don’t see, they don’t know or believe. Perfectly understandable. But with the right attitude any person is guaranteed to be chosen. Some people prefer their own version of what SHOULD be. And there is a possibility that THEY may even get it.
