Incidentally, EXCESS CO2 and acidification is also a factor that will hurt Polar Bear populations in the FUTURE. So EXCESS CO2 is NOT just a problem in the WARM parts of the ocean - it is all parts of all oceans. Recent INCREASES in Polar Bear populations are DUE TO HUNTING REGULATIONS. In the FUTURE their environment will be threatened by Global Warming and they will either adapt or DIE OUT. Just like the more than 100 elephants that could NOT adapt and DIED in Africa recently. Environmental decay is happening all over the earth, in the oceans and in the atmosphere....... which leads to recent increased species EXTINCTION. Humans seem to have problems living in HARMONY with each other and with the other creatures of the earth. It seems to be very near-sighted of them.
Many years ago CO2 levels were 15 to 17 times greater than today and live thrived. More is better -- the historic record clearly shows this. When you study plant leaves, you'll see that today's plants have more Stoma in order to eat food. They need more Stoma because there is less CO2 in the air. Years ago, when CO2 levels were much higher, the leaves had less Stoma because the air was richer in CO2. This is just one of many examples of why more CO2 is better.
