The source of the electricity is a LARGE centrally located electric generating plant that may be getting its energy from, solar, wind, or waterfalls which are VERY CLEAN sources. The least clean source would be natural gas, which is a fossil fuel, but burns much cleaner than gasoline or diesel. And the generating plant can have SCRUBBERS much bigger and more efficient than the exhaust of thousands of individual moving cars and trucks.
