By contrast, Weather Underground just tries to be accurate. I was getting contacted yesterday by friends around the country who were sure I was facing a killer hurricane. What? What we got yesterday, hour by hour, was pretty much what Weather Underground said to expect. Television news was not. Weather Underground is not always right, especially given the way we get brief downpours here that may soak a few neighborhoods while skipping others, but it’s the best we have.
That said, I think Weather Underground falls short in not giving us an easy way to know what the total rain was in the last day or week or month. The information may be there somewhere, but it’s a hard to find.
