OK, I get the general point there as a way of JUSTIFYING the conclusion expressed in the original thread that "Cooling is coming". Just mix together a nice WORD SALAD of this CYCLE and that CYCLE and come to whatever conclusion suits you. Sure, MAYBE (?) the mixed CYCLE SALAD sets up the earth to start cooling in about 2190. But, today right now, in REAL America and REAL earth ........REAL scientists are WARNING (to deaf ears of the LAY people) that Global Warming is a REAL event that has been proven by Climatologists. They have done this through years of observation. The climate NOISE of conflicting CYCLES is overcome by observations of both long-term and short-term trends of KEY indicators. One such indicator would be direct temperature measurement at many points around the globe. Another would be ocean temperatures around the earth. Another would be changes in ocean CO2. Another would be the study of coral reefs - which are predicted to be DOWN to only 15% of live coral by 2100. Another indicator would be tree ring analysis. Another would be upper atmosphere measurements of CO2, which is increasing and forming a HEAT blanket. Another indicator is something that every layperson in the world knows..........that old-growth forests around the world are being removed at an alarming rate - the Amazon is one example. Another indicator is that TUNDRA in Russia and elsewhere is burning and releasing MORE excess CO2. Another would be the Chinese middle class driving more automobiles and producing MORE EXCESS CO2. Another would be earthworms moving further northward into Canada and elsewhere. Another factor is world population increase since 1800 by a factor of 8 times.

There are many other indicators that could be researched. BUT, the final conclusion is that over 90% of climate scientists believe that the earth will continue to HEAT up for the next 30 years.

Nope ... 91% of scientists say CO2 is not a problem.
