We had the same problem in the Lantana. The best solution, we were told, was to string ethernet cable from the front bedroom modem to the living room. But, as there is little to no space above the Lantana front bedroom ceiling and the roof, our resident handyman/electrician just didn't want to do it. Our solution was to install an inexpensive Motorola modem and a separate, more powerful, router in place of the Comcast gateway (modem/router combined). We set the new Asus router atop a tall piece of furniture in the front bedroom/office.
Our Roku device has never been happy with the strength of the connection, as it varies from poor to good but, on the other hand, it hasn't failed to deliver a sufficient signal to watch whatever Roku channel we have chosen for the last four years.
