How much does your president contribute to the US economy.

Our monarchy have no power as such, but give the country a rallying point in both the bad and the good times.
You do it it your way, we'll do it ours, and if we do change our system, be sure, you will be the first to be notified!

First, very few Americans are as boorish as is sometimes exhibited in these discussions. Hopefully people don't judge the majority of a population by the words and actions of an uninformed few.

Second, the UK is certainly not alone in having a titular head of state. In Europe alone. The Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Denmark, Spain, Luxembourg, Monaco, Liechtenstein, and Sweden all have monarchies more or less the same as that of the UK. Asia also: the two most populous countries in the world with constitutional monarchies are Thailand and Japan, though to call Thailand's monarchy "constitutional" is a bit of a stretch as they seem to re-write their constitution about every other year.

The point is that how THEY do it is none of OUR business.
