I can understand it (though I enjoy an omnivorous diet). You can like the /taste/ of something, but have a strong aversion to the source. People "boycott" companies for all kinds of reasons, and find alternatives to suit their purposes.

Veganism, in my opinion, is a boycott against "using or consuming other animals or for human needs." That doesn't mean they're not capable of loving the taste of bacon. It just means they won't eat it, knowing that it came from something that once had a face.
