I seriously thought about cutting the cord but by the time you buy all the extra$, you are paying close to the same. I was at a friend's and he was trying to find a movie. He admitted it is a pain in the butt at times to get the channel/program you want. He said much of the time streaming is inconvenient compared to his previous system.
We all have choices and that is a good thing.

I don't know how your friend is connected to streaming. I have chrome cast connected to my TVs. There is a button on the right top of the remote, you press it and say what movie you want to see. If it is available anywhere it will appear on the screen and sometimes there is more than one way to get the movie you want, and it will give you a choice. It takes seconds. Also, you do not pay for unlimited video recording. As I stated in an earlier post you can also buy extra services and drop them when they don't have what you want with a click on your mouse. I also stated I have 5 TVs and will save over $600 in equipment rental yearly.
