We kept wondering that if Egypt wants to attract tourists, perhaps they could upgrade toilet facilities, add handrails, control the vendor from "attacking" you. My advice is go, be patient and if you have ANY trouble walking or climbing, stay home.
Strongly disagree. Went in 2018. One of the best trips we ever took. Egypt is amazing! Visa was easily obtained at airport for about $25- our tour guide got it for us. Our tour guides were outstanding, very well educated, advised us not to make eye contact with vendors and that worked well. Nile river cruise was definitely a highlight but everything was great. Yes, a lot of walking. In Cairo our group of 16 (all Americans except for one Canadian couple) was accompanied by an armed guard. Felt very safe.
