Your "wrong" is WRONG.

. They (
street legal carts) are "aloud" I mean "allowed"

When my cart was SL (it isn't any longer) I had been crossing 441, 44, 466 & 466A multiple times for 3 years after checking with Sumter County sheriff's office. You can't DRIVE on it (along it) but you can CROSS IT at an intersection with a traffic light. You can't drive ON 466, 466A, 441 etc as speed limit is over 35 but you can CROSS it . This was confirmed by a Sumter county lieutenant at a meeting of a golf cart club about a few years ago.
Also, just as a data point, 466A turns into a 35mph road after Powell so you can go through Pinellas, go right down Powell by the Library (35mph), then left on 466a where it now becomes 35mph then go left up 301 (as that is also 35mph). Just a fun fact.
Come to think of it (although I haven't checked because I am no longer street legal), but it seems that by going down Powell you could probably cross straight over 466A again into the new area and work your way back to Lowes/Publix and the new restaurants. Kinda silly to do it as it would be a lot easier in a car because you have to go so far out of your way.
