Not unheard-of though. I've never heard of Avatan but not far from my home in (at the time) Central Minnesota there was a beach along one of the rivers colloquially called Barea$$ Beach. Officially it didn't exist but was sort of an open secret. Only the members were supposed to know where it was but it wasn't hard to figure out. Wasn't unheard-of on a hot July day that I'd jump into my Grumman, gain a couple of thousand feet in altitude, cut the throttle and glide down over the treeline so I wasn't directly over the clientele, then bank hard left while simultaneously pushing the throttle to full open, and watch them scatter.
Yeah, I know. Childish and all that.
