If I had to guess, I’d say 44 is a county road and Morse and Meggison are local roads and the two never consulted when the last paving/widening was done… possibly a widening of 44 and thickening of the surface as it is not carrying lots more cars and commercial vehicles than when it was just a 2 lane road… thus removing any rise and fall of the other roads???
