If you are 3.5 rated in the Villages, where should you place yourself in your first tournament to be competitive outside the Villages?

I'm hearing the Villages Pickleball Rating System is regarded as overly generous relative to other rating systems, by as much as a point too high?
I think it depends on the likely age bracket of the participants. My unofficial, unscientific data (i.e. getting my butt kicked) is that if you head up north in the summer, and enter a tournament as a 3.5, and you see a lot of working age 30 and 40 somethings, you might be in trouble.
If it's down here in Florida, and you see a lot of people your own age, you might be OK.

Somewhere in all of the written information regarding The Villages rating system, there is a disclaimer that the purpose of The Villages rating system is to classify players for Villages events, and that your Villages rating may not correspond well to other systems.

There is a new system, trying to get established, called DUPR. It is just starting to make some inroads in TV. Google it if you want more information on that.
