I am participating in that league. You are correct, the vast majority of data points will be from Villagers playing Villagers, no question. There is some input from outside of TV, but most will be from within. Consequently, there will be some adjustment, but, as I believe you are saying, the effect will be minimal.
I've suspected that my TV rating wouldn't hold up well against the general population outside of TV. Hopefully, I'll get a chance this summer to see how my DUPR rating holds up when I am up north in the Canandaigua-Rochester area.
As the DUPR process matures, if I play DUPR rated events up north, then I'll be bringing that experience with me, reflected in my DUPR rating next season in TV, along with folks who travelled home to Boston, Chicago, etc etc and eventually we may have enough interaction with "The Outside World" to have our DUPR ratings be more relevant outside of TV.
