Who, out there, DOESN'T have a golfcart or the need for one, besides me?

I drive a 3 yr. old Toyota Highlander, low mileage, and I can't come up with a good reason to own a golfcart.

My wife doesn't drive, and we don't need the additional expense in maintenance in my senior years.
Our Toyota is paid for, not noisy, it's safer on the streets then a golfcart, and I'm using it for one reason, transportation long or short distance.

Why would I need another mechanical headache to maintain in my garage?

Opinions Please
I'd say you probably don't ! If you don't need a boat, why buy one ? If you don't need a jet ski, why buy one. I can give you one view from a different perspective: We bought one to save TIME and GASOLINE, it's proved a very economic measure to NOT drive a car to the Publix, or to the neighborhood pool, to the postal boxes, to the drug store. It takes forever in a car (and even worse in "winter") to get to a Publix that is maybe 8-10 blocks away, or to a WM. We would sit at lights, sit at the "gates" with traffic backed up for literally blocks, to get OUT and then to get back INTO our village. So for us, a used cart, needing little maintenance (we have a gas cart) so a quart of clean oil every now and then, a filter, keep the battery connections clean, change out the gas line filter (very visible and accessible !) every couple years..not really much "maintenance" required for gas. Now we once had an electric cart, that was VERY expensive, and, unless you are good at that kind of thing, it is NOT like a gas cart (which is pretty much like maintaining your lawn mover !). So for us it saves a TON of money we'd be burning up just sitting in traffic, and at traffic lights and "gates", etc. However, sounds like you would not save much, so a wise decision for you to not have a cart also. WHO was trying to talk you into it ? A neighbor ? Each person has their own set of circumstances, and to some, price of gas, that kind of thing, is of no concern at all. Don't listen to OTHERS, YOU know what you need and want ! Some buy a cart like they would a bike, just a toy for fun, saving money and time is not a concern !
