This is a relatively easy DIY project, but consider that most of the stacked wall blocks may have a lip that will interfere with what you want to do. The blocks that i have seen without lips tend to be very thick, on the order of 8 inches, which will take up a lot of space. I have seen at Lowe's a wall covering that was around 1.5 inches thick and looks exactly like a stacked wall. I have no idea if this would be suitable for outdoor installation, but this would allow you to possibly attach to the existing fence structure with limited loss of floor space. The product is designed to be glued to interior walls.
