I hope the automatic updates were specifically by your choice and not by default. I don’t want anything automatically updating anything ever. I am notified that the update is available and then choose if I need or want it.
The technician who just set up the modem/router I brought from the other house set it to be a Hotspot. Ah, I don’t think so. I specifically asked him if he had done that and he said no. Wish I had that tip back. Gotta have eyes in the back of your head with the people you have in the house.
